If you haven’t already noticed the new block on the right side of the forums stating Top 5 Referrers and Referral Link then you’re in for a treat. We have implemented a new functionality to the forums that allows you the member to refer new members to our site and get credit for them. This system will allow you to either send an email using the referrer management page in your control panel.
You can go to the control panel by clicking on the down arrow by your name at the top of the screen, then clicking on my settings, then click on the referrals tab. Or you can use the link http://forums.hvanime.com/index.php?app=core&module=usercp&tab=referrals&area=logs There you can go ahead use manage friends to invite friends using the forums email system.
It is that easy. If you want an easier way you can also copy and paste the unique referral code found on in the Referral settings section or using the block on the right hand screen. You can email, im or socialize your link using twitter, MySpace, Facebook or whatever social networking system you prefer.
At this point in time were looking for new members. We want our community to grow. We ask that you please try to refer members to our site. We are going to put in an award for the most active registrations that a member refers. If you refer the most members by the end March, we will issue you an award and you will get ad free access to the site.
We hope that gives you some incentive to help our community grow. We appreciate all your hard work and thanks for being a member of our forums.

This past weekend was the New York Comic Con/ Anime Fest. The 4 day convention was held October 13-16 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. This was the 2nd year in that both conventions were combined and for the first time the event lasted 4 days.
Thursday was the opening day of the convention. For those who were lucky enough to buy a 4 day pass or was a VIP Member had first crack at entering the con to see what it had to offer. Since the con was opened 1 day earlier, some of the booths were not fully set up such as the Bandai Booth. Other than that the convention experience was the same.
HV Anime is proud to announce its very own youtube channel. You can find our videos here. We have posted 4 videos taken by our member Onizuka from the forums who was gracious enough to take plenty of photos and some video's of his trip to the Largest Anime Convention in Maryland.
We hope you enjoy all of the videos that we plan on posting in the future. Here is just a quick sample
Hello everyone, Naota here bringing everyone an update with our site transition. At this time we have completed all phases of our site transition from www.HudsonValleyAnime.com to www.HVAnime.com. It took us three weeks to complete all three phases.
The first phase was completed when we purchased the new domain and set up the new website. After installing the custom theme and working with all the software to make sure it was installed correctly and the website was viewable to everyone we moved on to the second phase.
The second phase was to re-create the forums. After purchasing the new software, installing the software, and configuring the software we were able to successfully create a forum that reflected everything Japanese from Anime to Manga, movies to music and entertainment. The third phase followed after all testing was completed over the forum system.
This phase included re-creating the photo gallery. The old photo gallery had problems in the way it was install, ran, and maintained. We deleted the old photo gallery, installed a new gallery, and populated the gallery with every photo that was taken from 2008 to 2010. This new photo gallery is superior in every way we are in the process of adding new pictures when they come along.
We are hoping that this change will help our site grow. We are looking for new ways of bringing new content to our user base. Our forums are away for members to communicate with each other and engaging in conversations and discussions about all things Japanese.
We are currently looking for new members to join our forum community. We are open to anyone. You’re not an exclusive set of people; we are open for anyone to join. If you, a friend, family member, or acquaintance like Japanese, Anime, Manga, or anything of that sort then you have found the right place. Membership is open and it is free so if you’d like come join us in our community.

As for other site news the forums are running perfectly. We have had no problems and we are getting great responses back from our members. At this time we are at 9 members and we are expecting to grow. If you have any friends, family members or co-workers who like anime they can join. We are not exclusive to the Hudson Valley. The forums are open to any one from any where. The name HV Anime is derived from where the site was founded.
We hope to add new content to the site as well as the forums over the next couple of weeks. Also, We will be slowly taking down the old site and reditecting it to our news page. We thank you all for your co-operation and have a great day.
We are pleased to announce that the forums are officially up and running. After 10 hours of hard work and programming we were able to get the forums live today. The forums can be reached via the top and main navigation menu or directly using http://forums.hvanime.com
Our last system had many bugs and flaws causing the community to fizzle. This software is better in many aspects and offers many of the features we need as well as the reliability needed for our community.
If you should have any problems with registering or using the forums you can email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or post a topic in the support forum. We hope that you all have fun with the forums.
HV Anime is officially online. After 2 weeks of hard work and countless hours of design and implementation we are proud to say that the site is Live.
We have currently implemented a new forum system and that is running perfectly. The previous software was the weakest link in the previous revision of this projection. We expect no more delay in getting this community off the ground and growing.
We have added some new features as well such as an RSS Feed. Now you can syndicate all our articles and news via email or your favorite reader.
Please expect to see more features in the upcoming weeks.
The transition from www.hudsonvalleyanime.com to www.hvanime.com is moving along smoothly. We have the website up and running. There are still some sections that need to be added but overall the site layout is done.
The website theme is still being developed and should be up and running fully no later than July 6. We will be adding new features as well over the upcomming weeks. At this time the new community will be tested. As soon as that leaves the beta stage we will add that to the site as a full feature.
Please come back for more updates.
The new and improved HV Anime site is slowly coming together. The content management system is now in place, and some of our core features are working. We are currently working on adding some more functionality as well as a better website design. This design is temporary while we get the software needed to design the new theme.
We have been demoing other software for our site as well. Some of the software being tested is Invision Power Board and coppermine photo gallery. Once testing is complete we will implement those as well. We are waiting on funding for the Forum System so that that can be put into place.
Please expect new rules and guidelines for the forums. They will be put into place to make the community even better.
That is the current update as of right now and please keep visiting while we get better.
Welcome To the New and Improved HV Anime Club Site. We are in the process of creating a new site. Please bear with us while we get everything setup correctly. Over the next couple of weeks we will have news articles, a new forum, and photo gallery.
We appreciate your co-operation. Please visit www.hudsonvalleyanime.com at this time while we work on this site.
Thanks;
Naota.
HV Anime was founded by Naota with the help of his friends Drakenfyre75 and Lord Moroii. The original purpose of the site was to bring anime fans from the Hudson Valley Region of New York State together as a community offering News Articles, Reviews and a forum.
The first few revisions of the site started off badly resulting in 5 different content management systems and 3 different forum systems. HV Anime was starting to work well until a year or so after it was founded when the particpation in the forums went down to zero and the site went into a inactive state.
After seeing his vision resulting in a failure Naota started to think of new ways to revive his vision. He bought the domain http://hvanime.com to help users remember the site rather than typing a bulking name such as http://hudsonvalleyanime.com. His research had shown that most sites fail due to lack of participation and content.
Naota saw that the forums had many problems noted within the support page. Many members were having problems registering and signing up. This prompted Naota to investigate different forum software titles for the forum and different designs for the main page. After coming to a conclusion of which software to run and which design to use be began to plan the new community.
Countless hours were spent in the design, layout and forum structure. The choice in staring the website and forum from scratch was tough because of all the data that is contain in the old system. This decision will benefit in the long run so that there won't be any problems in the foreseeable furture.
At this point in time HV ANime is for anyone who like anime to join. We have a Facebook Group, Forums, Twitter and a website. We are looking for new ways to make the community evolve. And that is Naota's main objective.
Our mission is to bring people together who are fans of anime, manga, or other japanese style of art wether it is animation, music, or drawings in one friend community environment.
